OER Appoints New Communications AVPGlenn A. Peterson has been appointed to the position of assistant vice president for communications in the Health Sciences Office of External Relations (OER). He will oversee media and marketing programs and contribute to publications for OER. He will coordinate Health Sciences communications initiatives and programs with Columbia Universitys central administration, and public affairs and marketing programs of Columbias hospital affiliates. "I am very excited about joining the external relations staff at such a prestigious institution," says Mr. Peterson, who comes to Columbia from the National League of Nursing where he was executive director of its Center for Communications. "The position seems to be a logical application of my 20-some years of NYC communications experience. I look forward to focusing that experience on the challenges involved in enhancing the public's awareness of the many wonderful and varied aspects of Columbia's Health Sciences Division."
