$5.3 Million Raised at Millennium Gala Bill Cosby shares a laugh with Dr. Herbert Pardes, vice president of Health Sciences, during New York Presbyterian’s Millennium Gala. The $5.3 million raised from the first major gala for the recently combined New York Presbyterian Hospital will support programs for the Department of Psychiatry, which sponsored the event. The event, which was held on April 22 at the Waldorf-Astoria, featured celebrity guests Bill Cosby and the Pointer Sisters. Proceeds from the event will aid three programs: an inpatient unit, an emergency room, and a child and adolescent clinic. Funds will also make possible the establishment of a center for trauma and abuse.
