CURRICULUM VITAE:
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Human metabolic system modeling and analysis are an important
part of my work. Theoretical study on human metabolic system leads
to a clear understanding of the statics and dynamics of the
system, and system mathematical model is then established for
quantitative analysis. System identification study results in
diagnosis methods, which usually ends with instruments for
metabolic disease analysis. System control analysis usually
achieves methods for disease treatment and control. This research
for human metabolism is currently applied in newborn/infant
respiratory and heart function monitoring, metabolic system
evaluation and food intake/growth estimation.
The combination of human metabolism and body composition research leads to human physical development study. This study involves hormone regulation on metabolic system, dynamics of metabolic system, bone/muscle/fat distribution of human body, and neural control and dynamics of muscle. Several research projects are going on such as how to increase childrenís physical potential? how to improve muscle dynamic response characteristics? How much muscle could a personís metabolic system support? and how to control osteoporosis. This research is currently applied in children physical development and elder osteoporosis control.
