Blandine Laferrère is currently an Associate in Clinical Medicine at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and an Attending at St Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital Center in the Department of Endocrinology. She is a Research Associate at the New York Obesity Research Center. Her basic and main goal is understanding the pathophysiology, cellular and molecular mechanisms ontributing to the development and maintenance of obesity, metabolic disease than can lead to associated morbidity by diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. More specifically, she is studying the hormonal regulation of obesity and investigating the role of glucocorticoids and insulin in the regulation of leptin and ghrelin in human obesity.
