CURRICULUM VITAE:
Dympna Gallagher received her undergraduate education in Ireland, and a Doctorate in Education in 1992 from Teachers College, Columbia University.
She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the New York Obesity Research Center at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center. Dr. Gallagher is an
Assistant Research Scientist at the Obesity Research Center, New York, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Applied Physiology in the Biobehavioral
Studies Department, Teachers College, Columbia University. The author of many publications and is currently funded by the National Institutes of Health. Dr.
Gallagher's research interests include body composition changes in the elderly, efficacy of weight loss in obese elderly, modeling of resting energy expenditure
and metabolically active tissue mass in children and adults, and increasing prevalence of obesity in China. Dr. Gallagher has wide expertise in the area of body
composition methodology.
