PURPOSE: The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) is investigating the best ways --both pharmacologic and lifestyle -- to prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes in people at high risk. People who are overweight (even slightly), over 25, related to someone who has diabetes, or who had diabetes while pregnant are at risk for adult- onset diabetes. Those who are African, Asian, Native and Latino Americans are at an even higher risk. The DPP is the largest diabetes prevention study ever undertaken in the United States. For more information on how to participate in this six-year landmark study at no cost to you, please call 212-523-8989 or email 70752.35@compuserve.com
