The aim of this five year research project is to better understand the changes that occur in body composition, with a particular emphasis on muscle mass, in 70 plus year old African-American men and women. This research project involves participants having yearly tests carried out that will assess their body composition and energy expenditure.

Men and women are currently being recruited who are African -American, 70 - 80 years, ambulatory, and healthy.

Participants will be given $100 each year for participation and a copy of their results.
