Follow up study of Diabetes Prevention Program.
Dr. Xavier Pi-Sunyer is the Primary Investigator and I serve as the
Co-Investigator.

NIH-funded multi-center study with 3000+ participants studywide.
The primary endpoint is to seek a means of preventing/delaying diabetes in those with Impaired Glucose Tolerance at screening.
Dr. Xavier Pi-Sunyer is the Primary Investigator and I serve as the
Co-Investigator.
- National Clinic Operations Group (COG) Subcommittee of The Diabetes Prevention Program
COG Subcommittee Member 1997-2002
This DPP subcommittee evaluates clinic operations at all of the 25 DPP sites to assure a high standard of quality.
Subcommittee members review issues such as adverse events, data integrity, clinic flow/function, staffing issues, and participant retention for all of the DPP sites involved nationally.
- National Weight Loss Lifestyle Planning Committee of The Study of Health-Related Outcomes of Weight Loss Trial (SHOW Trial),
Subsequently renamed LOOK AHEAD TRIAL
Lifestyle Planning Committee Member 1999-2000
A twelve-year NIH-funded multi-center study that will evaluate the effects of weight loss in diabetic patients. Weight loss will be pursued by various interventions, including lifestyle modification and medication. The study is presently in the planning stages and is scheduled to begin recruitment in the year 2001. The Lifestyle Planning Committeeís goal is to develop a protocol for lifestyle
behavior modification in the study grounded on evidence-based interventions.
