Mark Hawken

Mark Philip Hawken, MD, is the ICAP-Kenya country director. In this capacity, Dr. Hawken leads the planning and implementation of the program. Previously, he was ICAP-Tanzania country director.

Dr. Hawken has worked in Kenya in the field of operational research, particularly in the area of tuberculosis, tuberculosis preventive therapy, and HIV/AIDS. More recently he has been involved in HIV prevention, care and treatment, and PMTCT programs.

Dr. Hawken is a New Zealand-trained Physician in Internal Medicine and has a Master's degree in Infectious Diseases Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
