TITLE: Clinical Advisor
LOCATION: Mbabane, Swaziland
OVERALL JOB FUNCTION:
GRANT FUNDED
The International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP) is seeking a candidate who will provide technical assistance and support in Swaziland in order to improve and ensure the quality, utilization and scope of HIV/AIDS care and treatment services with an emphasis on families. Incumbent will serve as a technical resource to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MHSW) and support the strengthening and programs, systems and linkages of family centered HIV services. Such assistance might include training of staff, facilitation of community linkages, patient flow analysis, support in drug and supply management, development of quality assurance action plans, etc. Incumbent will provide direct technical assistance to multidisciplinary teams at each site to implement family-focused (adult/pediatric) care and treatment services, which include strengthening the clinical skills of all practitioners in the prevention and treatment of opportunistic infections, as well as use of ARVs. Incumbent will work closely with other partners to maximize partnership strengths and effectively collaborate to implement program goals. Incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- For Associate Research Scientist: MD, MBChB or professional equivalent
- Experience in developing-country health care programs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MPH, MSc or equivalent degree
- 3+ years experience in developing country health care programs
- Extensive clinical experience in care and treatment of HIV/AIDS patients
- Excellent grasp of clinical issues and current literature in HIV/AIDS treatment
- Experience in training
- Ability to relate and work well with colleagues
