JOB TITLE: Associate Director for Field Finance
LOCATION: Location is subject to change in one of the eleven country offices in Sub-Sahara Africa
JOB FUNCTION:
GRANT FUNDED
The Associate Director for Field Finance will work with the International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP) under the direction of the Finance Director. The incumbent, who will be based 100% overseas, will be responsible for the overall financial functions of the eleven Africa-based ICAP Country Offices. He/she will also oversee the financial assistance and management of Africa-based ICAP subrecipients. Will be responsible for directing and implementing ongoing field office and subrecipient budget planning processes. Will develop long term financial strategic goals and planning and assist in coordinating new financial activities in the Country Offices and field based subrecipients. He/she will be responsible for rolling out a new accounting software system in the country offices, monitoring the need and managing ICAP office and subrecipient audits and managing a New York and Africa based staff. Incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a bachelor's degree required plus five years of related experience.
- Excellent analytic skills, management and team-building experience.
- Strong budgeting, accounting and quantitative skills.
- Broad computer skills required (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet and accounting/financial management software).
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
- Ability to function in a highly complex environment and work as a member of a collaborative team while exercising independent judgment is essential.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in business administration, advanced degree/certification in accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with U.S. government-funded initiatives highly desirable.
