JOB TITLE: Clinical Officer
LOCATION: Mozambique, various sites
The International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP) supports the implementation of the Mozambique National Strategic Plan to Combat STI/HIV/AIDS. Qualified clinicians are sought to provide technical assistance and direct clinical support to specific HIV/AIDS Day Care facilities supported by Columbia University in Mozambique. Incumbent will support site development by building the technical capacity of local clinicians to provide improved HIV care and treatment services to an increasing number of patients. Incumbent will provide guidance and train staff in the day to day clinical management of adults and children with HIV/AIDS. Incumbent will also build capacity of clinical staff to implement their role in the administration, data management, monitoring and evaluation of HIV care and treatment services and facilitate information systems development and perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates must be medical doctors with at least three years of clinical experience in HIV/AIDS care and treatment and STI management
- Applicants should have experience in providing health care services in a developing country, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Fluent in Portuguese
- Have a good command of written and spoken English, and be able to relate and work well with colleagues
