JOB TITLE: Adherence and Psychosocial Advisor

LOCATION: Lesotho

OVERALL JOB FUNCTION:

 The International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP) is seeking a candidate who will play a leadership role in ICAP Lesotho by providing technical assistance in the area of adherence and psychosocial support to improve and ensure the quality of HIV/AIDS care and treatment services.  Incumbent will serve as a technical resource to the Lesotho Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MHSW) and support the strengthening and linkages of PMTCT and care and treatment services.

The incumbent will be responsible for building strong and workable HIV/AIDS-related psychosocial/adherence intervention packages and implementing/disseminating the packages on the site and national level through building the capacities of project implementers, including healthcare workers and community based workers. S/he will be expected to develop psychosocial programs, training tools, job aids and provide follow-up technical assistance, supportive supervision and mentoring support to ensure high quality training and implementation of psycho-social activities. It is also the responsibility of the incumbent to supervise and monitor the implementation of planned psychosocial activities and ensure that the-state-of-art knowledge and skills on psychosocial care and support are put in place across the ICAP supported sites. Incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Social work or psychology degree, master’s degree in public health and/or social sciences desirable
  • 3+ years management experience in adherence and  psychosocial care
  • Building and working with teams essential
  • Strong  communications skills
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills
